tutorial 5 step Create digital Map

Map is an essential thing today , for people who just using it for navigation, showing location, etc  and specially if you are working to engineer surface (earth surface).  Many software offer  feature to create map but sometimes we have to do it in complicated ways, that is make us very confuse and sometimes we have to pending our job and need help. Create map now more easier using autocad, its simple and only take 5 step to make smoothing contour in topography map. For create map using autocad we need support tool as quicksurf, quicksurf one of the powerful software for creating and manipulate  map. you can get trial version on official web (you can try at rocsience web), this special feature has been post by us (please search in our blog to know better). for this opportunity we will assist you to use one of the function that quicksurf offer next we will give you other function such as make mapping cross section, volume counting, pit construction, etc. This is 5 step to make map using autocad It will guide us to create map

1.  Open autocad, you can integrated quicksurf to autocad 2004 and years after
2. Point to Quicksurf - import data – read ASCII point- choose file make sure file isn’t open, because quicksurf can’t read the file if it was opened so we can’t make the topography map

   

 3. Point to Quicksurf - Contour interval - set contour interval (you can set the interval contour as   

     your desire exp you can type 5, more smaller interval more smaller interval elevation between 

     one contour line to other)  

 4. Point to Quicksurf – Contour - (it will  show you small box) Surface - right click - 

    (None/Show/draw/Redraw) file the blank with D if you want to draw contour and S if you just 

    want to show contour (the contour will erase if you scroll the mouse ) – close all (right click)

 5.   Bloc / highlight contour, Point to Quicksurf –  annotate – Smooth contours

If the contour isn’t show, you have to do this : Write in / push Z enter E enter to Show contour

You can make your map more perfect by adding index contour and labeling index contour with value of elevation in that index contour, this is the step :

A.      Highlight / bloc contour

B.      Point to quicksurf -  Annotate – index interval ( write interval as your desire ) – right click – index layer ( write u) – right click – index width (write >1 to make index contour different from other line contour)

C.      Make linear line, cross the contour

D.      Point to quicksurf - Annotate – autolabel contours (for auto) /label contours (for manual labeling) – label interval (write All) – right click - text height (write number of height) – right click – select guide polyline – click on line (point C)

E.      Its take several time for quicksurf to checking contour, wait until quicksurf finish write label contour
