cross section map dengan autocad (created cross section surface map)
For create
map using autocad, can be done in two way :
A. Using autocad integrated with quicksurf
(try trial version or you can buy it if you like this software)
B. Using autocad land desktop. We will
guide you using this software to create
cross section in our other post
In this opportunity we will guide you to created cross
section from topography map. When Using autocad integrated with quicksurf we
have to done it in several step, it just so easy, the different of using
quicksurf then other software is you can control your cross section surface as
you ‘re desire, you can control dimension, vertical range, etc. the very
important thing is you can use all of autocad feature specially if you more
familiar with that then using feature in autocad Land desktop, using dimension
for calculate range and distance more easier. Cross-section witch
representation surface in 2D profiles, it can use when we want to know bedding
set from many lithology by overlay it in one section, or when we use cross
section method for calculating volume. Cross section familiar using for mine
exploration (coal exploration) to determinate the inclined of coal or to
estimate deposite volume of coal and overburden

Open
autocad
2)
Created
map (see our other post 5 step created map with autocad) / open digital map
3)
If
map didn’t show push Z enter E enter to show it
4)
Point
to quicksurf – ekstract from drawing – extract to surface , it will take several time wait until quicksurf
finish to read the map /entities
This step always done
when open map at the first time, otherwise this software wouldn’t read the
elevation from your map
5)
Point
to quicksurf –triangulated grid this
will open surface - right click – this will open none/show /draw / redraw write
s, wait until quicksurf finish creating triangulated from your surface, this
will short waiting time when use command cross section
6)
Scroll
mouse this will make triangulated hide
You can skip step 5 and 6
but if you done it it will take longer waiting time then using that step.
7)
Before
you created cross section we have to configure the elevation range from your
surface, Click on contour look for the lowest elevation and highest elevation from
surface map, see elevation on left corner side of your windows
8)
After
you get range elevation, go to next step for configure cross section
9)
Point
to quicksurf – configuration- configure section, this will show you 2D section
properties – click on graph – at vertical range unclick auto fill the min with
lowest elevation and max with highest elevation
10) Drawing control line on the surface
(on the area that need to be convert to cross section)
11) Point to quicksurf – design tools –
cross section - surface – right click – select object select control line -
right click - none/show /draw / redraw write D – lower left corner- left click
– drag the mouse – upper right corner – left click
